Pumpkins and things

Home > Teacher Sam's Blog > Pumpkins and things

Today we talked about pumpkins and what is inside them.  We opened one up to see the guts and feel the gushy slime – at least some of us did!  We also cut up some pumpkins ourselves!  Outside Rhett showed others how to make a water bomb which they were thrilled with until the rain barrel was emptied.  Inside, Maggie noticed that pumpkin seeds float in the water and while the water is pouring into the sink the seeds only go one way (counter clockwise).  She showed Samuel and he discovered that moving the faucet left or right didn’t change the direction of the seeds.  He showed Nadiya, and she added more things ….  Thanks Joel and Dan!
