Today we went to Fire Station #13 to see what tools fire fighters use. During our time there the fire fighters received 4 calls, 2 just before we got there and 2 while we were thee.  We still managed to learn all about the fire gear they wear and some tools they use.  Ask your child what the fire fighter’s axe is for, how much does their gear weigh, and how do they breathe in a fire?  During circle we talked more about fire fighters and what we had missed from our field trip.  The kids had so much great information as well as questions we couldn’t hear it all!  We refreshed our memories of fire drills as well as discussing a plan for home!
